Support & Hope in Jordan and Gaza
Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
We’re grateful to report a deeply meaningful and successful trip to Jordan this month. With hearts full of compassion and hands ready to serve, we brought together a remarkable team between the Eyeglasses Ministry team from First Baptist Church in Garland, TX, and the team from Noroton Presbyterian Church in Darien, CT.
Together, we carried out a weeklong outreach serving Syrian and Iraqi Christian refugees in desperate need of support and care. One of our team members, David, shared his reflections on this impactful mission:
“A part of CM2G’s mission is helping Syrian and Iraqi Christian refugees in their plight to develop a decent life in Jordan. We recently supported the eyeglasses outreach by the Garland Baptist Church with assistance from members from the Noroton Presbyterian Church in Darien, CT. For 4 days, we examined people’s eyes and provided—free of charge—80 to 90 prescription glasses per day, bettering the lives of those involved.
Most memorable was a young, very shy girl, perhaps 13 years old, whose eyes registered -5 on the dioptic scale, indicating severe myopia (nearsightedness). She could only see at 20 feet what a normal person could see at 400 feet. This obviously greatly impacted her life. No wonder she was very shy and hesitant.
This young lady left with new glasses and a smile on her face, thus fulfilling the vision of this Christian mission—to enable people to see much more than what is right in front of them.”
The team was able to see and help about 400 individuals! We thank God for every eye opened, every heart touched, and every smile restored. Your support continues to make stories like this possible.
Relief and Hope in Gaza
The horrific situation in Gaza continues to break our hearts as we witness the immense pain and suffering of countless civilians, leaving us feeling helpless in the face of such devastation.
Yet even in the midst of darkness, we cling to the light of Christ.
Last week, by the grace of God, CMG, under the umbrella of Gaza Baptist Church, we prepared and distributed 2,000 hot meals across the southern and central regions of Gaza. This effort is more than humanitarian; it is a powerful testimony of Christian presence and compassion. Through each warm meal, we proclaim that Christians care and we are here to feed the hungry and bring comfort to those enduring unimaginable hardship.
Watch our relief efforts below:
These efforts are not only feeding the hungry but also sparking meaningful conversations and building bridges between communities.
“Three of my neighbors came to help carry the meals and we sat together outside, waiting until 4:00 to begin distribution. They joked with me about the church’s intentions behind offering help, and I took the opportunity to explain how people are often turned against Christians, but in truth, Christians have more humanity and conscience than many leaders. We had a constructive conversation, and one of them even said, ‘You do a lot for them, and your work is always honest and organized. Even when the meals run out, you find kind words to comfort people. You’re doing an amazing job.’”
On Monday, March 24, we were able to deliver 1,000 more hot meals to those suffering in the north of Gaza. These acts of love and mercy are only possible through your continued prayers, generosity, and partnership.
One of our local leaders in Khan Younis shared this touching anecdote from the recent distribution:
“We talked for nearly an hour, surrounded by children listening to our conversation. I speak carefully and gently, planting seeds for them to reflect on. The rest is in God’s hands.”
Let us continue to reach out to the people of Gaza with Christ’s love.
We thank you for standing with us in prayer and generosity. Your support allows us to continue reflecting Christ’s love in a tangible way during these incredibly challenging times. As the needs grow, we remain committed to bringing hope, help, and the love of Christ to Gaza and beyond.
May the Lord bless you abundantly for your compassion and prayers. As always, we love to hear from you!
