New Stories of Hope from Gaza
Over the past weeks, we have continued to witness how God is working through even the most difficult circumstances. In the midst of uncertainty, your support is bringing not only practical help, but also moments of dignity, comfort, and hope to families across Gaza.
1,500 Hot Meals Distributed Across Gaza
Late last week, Christian Mission to Gaza helped provide 1,500 hot meals to families across the south, middle, and north of the Gaza Strip. The meals prepared with rice and turkey were delivered to displaced families living in difficult conditions.
One elderly woman, sitting outside her tent, received her meal and immediately opened it. As she smelled the food, her eyes filled with tears. She said:
“This smell brought me back to my kitchen before we were displaced… it feels as if I cooked it myself for my grandchildren.”
She held our team member’s hand and added:
“You did not just feed us a meal, you gave us the feeling that we are still worthy of something good."
Another father shared that while many meals they receive are undercooked or insufficient, this one was different:
“This meal was prepared with care. My children ate and were full—and seeing them satisfied means everything to me.”
Even the camp leadership reached out afterward, saying:
“These meals were not just food, they were a message of respect. The care in preparation showed love and reverence for the people.”
Changing Perceptions Through Love
During the distribution, something powerful happened. A conversation began among several individuals in the camp about Christians. One man spoke about his personal experience with a Christian he knew and said:
“Honestly, all the Christians I have met have high character.”
This opened the door for a deeper conversation. Our team shared how believers often pray for peace and for the suffering of all people to be relieved. Many were surprised. Moments like these remind us that the work being done is not only meeting physical needs, it is also building understanding, breaking misconceptions, and reflecting the love of Christ in a tangible way.
Supporting the Christian Community in Gaza
In addition to food distributions, we recently provided around 50 food vouchers to members of the Christian community in Gaza.
Each voucher, valued at approximately $100, allows families to purchase essential items with dignity and choice. In a time where resources are limited and prices are rising, this support provides both relief and stability to families who are navigating extremely challenging conditions. We are continuing this initiative to reach even more families. In addition, we have begun supporting some Christian families with their first month's rent to assist them in finding stable housing.
Reaching Families with Food Assistance
We also distributed food baskets to 100 families in the middle and southern regions of Gaza. These baskets provide essential supplies that sustain families for days at a time, helping relieve the burden of daily food insecurity.
